Unnati: Transforming Skills into Professions

Through close collaboration with women in rural areas, we identified a trend of self-imposed home confinement and aimed to break this cycle by empowering women to pursue their passions and contribute to their families’ incomes. This led to the creation of “Unnati,” a stitching unit that transformed women’s skills into professions.
Starting as a support system, Unnati has become a thriving entrepreneurial hub, producing corporate uniforms, handmade masks, travel pouches, and convocation gowns. Their success has attracted orders from schools and other institutions, significantly boosting their income.
In recognition of their exceptional skills and entrepreneurial spirit, Unnati received “The Best Production Unit” award from Dr. Kiran Bedi, underscoring their commitment to excellence and remarkable achievements.

Custom Hiring Centers (CHCs): Empowering Women in Agriculture

Sonalika CSR’s Unnati initiative is making significant strides in revolutionizing agriculture in Uttar Pradesh by empowering women through innovative Custom Hiring Centers (CHCs). These centers, exclusively managed by local women farmers, offer essential agricultural equipment for rent and high-quality seeds through seed banks.

Sonalika CSR has equipped these CHCs with essential agricultural implements like rotavators, cultivators, and potato planters, which the women farmers offer on rent.
To date, over 1,500 kilograms of high-yielding seeds have been distributed, contributing to sustainable livelihoods and economic independence for women in agriculture.

Hospital Attendant Training Program (HATP): Empowering Women in Healthcare

In collaboration with DCWA, Sonalika CSR launched the Hospital Attendant Training Program (HATP) to empower meritorious girls from disadvantaged backgrounds with essential hospital attendant skills. This program equips participants with the knowledge and expertise needed to excel in healthcare settings, contributing to quality patient care while enhancing their own socio-economic status.

We trained girls from various local areas to ensure women’s gynaecological health and general well-being. Our partner, DCWA, spread awareness and educated these girls. Three batches have already graduated, with many placed in various hospitals and institutions. This program has set a benchmark for future aspirants, earning the participants deserved respect in society.

Supporting Local Artisans: Bridging Communities

Sonalika CSR’s commitment to inclusivity extends to local artisans, whom we support by providing platforms to showcase their craftsmanship.
By featuring their products in our corporate offices during festivals, we not only promote their artistic and entrepreneurial skills but also foster cultural exchange and appreciation. This initiative has enabled artisans to gain recognition and expand their market reach, thereby contributing to local economic growth and preserving traditional art forms.

Sonalika CSR has been working for over a decade through various initiatives to empower the ones in need.
