Our efforts are supported by strategic partnerships, effective practices, and community-level institutions.

OUR PROGRAMS

Stubble Burning

Sonalika CSR’s Crop Residue Management Initiative has successfully eliminated crop stubble burning across 12,353 acres of land. This initiative has positively impacted 1,44,700 lives in 50 villages across Haryana and Punjab.

Crop stubble burning is a major contributor to air pollution in Delhi, with data showing that it accounts for up to 30% of the city’s winter smog. This practice significantly deteriorates air quality, leading to severe health issues such as respiratory problems and increased hospital admissions.

The movement started with collaboration and dialogue with organizations such as CIMMYT, Times Foundation and Action Aid. Sonalika CSR mobilized hundreds of farmers, organized Kisan Baithaks, conducted multiple awareness sessions and shared best practices to prevent stubble burning.

Sonalika CSR also provided advanced technologies like the Super Straw Management System (SMS) in Combine Harvesters, Zero Tillage Machines, and Happy Seeders to ensure that farmers do not resume the practice of stubble burning.

The whole initiatives promote sustainable farming practices, reduce air pollution and contribute to a healthier environment for all.

Compost Machines

Dedicated to promoting sustainable solutions to solid waste management, Sonalika CSR has set up composting units in 4 prime locations in Delhi, including Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, Chattarpur Mandir, Iskcon Temple, and Jagannath Mandir.

This initiative has successfully facilitated the conversion of 60 metric tonnes of organic waste into compost, which has subsequently been utilised in the gardens of these religious sites, contributing to the advancement of zero waste circularity.

Plantation Drive

Taking the initiative to conserve and enrich the environment, Sonalika CSR has launched multiple tree plantation drives in Delhi, Punjab, UP, MP and Rajasthan—planting over 15,000 trees to date.

In addition, Sonalika CSR has engaged schoolchildren in these campaigns, cultivating environmental awareness and education and creating young environmental stewards.

Declining green spaces in urban regions have become a major concern in the past few years. Addressing this, Sonalika CSR partnered with the WEEE Foundation to launch a tree sponsorship campaign across Delhi NCR.

With participation and appreciation from volunteers, students, and local residents, trees were planted in community spaces like parks and school grounds, enhancing green cover and urban biodiversity.

Waste Collection Drive

In an effort to support and advance circularity in waste management, Sonalika CSR organised the Paper Waste Collection Drive. This initiative resulted in the successful collection and recycling of over 1200 kg of paper waste.

With the aim of supporting the global campaign against plastic pollution, Sonalika CSR organised a Plastic Waste Collection Drive at corporate offices in Delhi NCR.

More than 370 kg of plastic waste were collected and recycled, highlighting the need and power of collective action in environmental stewardship.

Promotion of Green Energy

33 units of Portable Biogas Plant were set up in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh to promote clean energy and reduce reliance on conventional fuels.

Mangrove Plantation: Building a Green and Natural Shield in Odisha
